A street sweeper driver was killed when his truck flipped after crashing into another commercial vehicle in Lakeview on Friday morning.

Nassau County police said Nathaniel Burns Jr., of Brooklyn, was driving an Isuzu street sweeper southbound on Peninsula Boulevard when his vehicle collided with an International Harvester truck shortly before 7 a.m.

The victim was taken to the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s office. The other driver was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Homicide Squad detectives impounded both vehicles and are continuing the investigation, but do not suspect any criminality, police said.
