A 75-year-old Port Washington woman was struck by a truck while she was crossing at Soundview and Waterview Drives—near King Kullen—May 12 at about 8:15 a.m.
Sandra Samuels was pronounced dead at 12:13 p.m. by a hospital staff physician. A brake safety test was performed on the truck, which was driven by a 30-year-old man. Detectives report no apparent criminality at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
