A man was arrested on June 13 in Syosset for driving while intoxicated, with an 11-year-old child in the car, according to police, after the vehicle crashed into a utility pole.
Police say at 9:36 p.m. officers responded to a call for a motor vehicle accident on Cold Spring Rd./Southwoods Rd. and found 50-year-old Philip Briguglio of Bayville with a strong odor of alcohol and unsteady on his feet. Briguglio failed sobriety tests at the scene, according to police, and the child complained of pain and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Briguglio is being charged with DWI and Aggravated DWI with a Child Passenger (Leandra’s Law).
