On Mitzvah Day, Sunday, May 4, Our Lady of Fatima Parish Outreach had the honor of being recipients of generous donations from numerous local synagogues.
The charity from the community provided residents in need with non-perishable foods, breakfast bags, lasagnas, bikes and helmets.
We are blessed at Fatima to see the union of community through the unwavering backing and encouragement that we receive from Port Washington residents.
Our many services to help those in need within the Port community would be difficult to continue without the support of local synagogues throughout the year and wonderful events such as Mitzvah Day.
The citizens of Port Washington have shown the huge impact that a community can have when they come together for the greater good. As Mother Teresa said: “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.”
Thank you to everyone who participated in Mitzvah Day.
