Obituary: Robert G. Haule

Robert G. Haule (Bob) passed away on May 3, 2014 in Stuart, FL, where he lived for the last 26 years, coming from Cove Neck. A Korean War veteran with the Coast Guard, he served on a destroyer escort doing sea and air rescue duty. Bob graduated from the State University of N.Y. at Oswego and received his master’s degree from Hofstra University. Before retirement, he was a school administrator in Nassau and Suffolk counties and was associated with the NYS Education Department. He was charter member and past commander of the Oyster Bay VFW Post #8033, a life member of the Huntington Elks #1565, and he also served as road commissioner in Cove Neck. In Florida, he was board president and commodore of the Yacht Club at Windjammer Condominium where he and his wife resided. Bob volunteered for many years at the Elliott Museum and helped restore the antique auto show that is still well known today. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Fetz Haule.
