A 50-year-old Cedarhurst man died after crashing his car in East Meadow on Monday evening.

Nassau County police said Paul Wentz was driving his Subaru Outback westbound on Hempstead Turnpike when he crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and struck two utility poles shortly after 7 p.m.

The vehicle overturned and the victim was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Third Squad detectives impounded the vehicle and are continuing the investigation.
