A 54-year-old man was killed when a truck crashed into his SUV in his hometown of Sound Beach man early Wednesday morning.

Suffolk County police said Mitchell Sussman was driving a Subaru Forester eastbound on Route 347 when a Jeep Grand Cherokee collided with his vehicle shortly after 2 a.m.

The victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The other driver, 30-year-old driven Tara Grandinetti of Bellport, was taken to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where she was treated and released.

Fourth Squad detectives impounded both vehicles, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-854-8452.
