Suffolk County police are investigating a pair of armed home invasions 10 miles and less than a week apart from each other.
In the first case, two men pushed their way into a room at Midway Hotel on Medford Avenue in North Patchogue, flashed a handgun and stole cash and prescription medication from the victim inside at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, police said.
Then at 4:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, three men kicked in the rear door of a home on Henry Road in Centereach, held up a shotgun and demanded cash, police said.
There were no reported injuries in either case. No arrests have been made and there was no description of the suspects, who fled both scenes.
Fifth Squad detectives are continuing the investigation into the North Patchogue case and Sixth Squad detectives are doing the same in the Centereach case.
