(Below is a copy of a letter sent to Nelson Kalombo Ngoy, pastor of the Community United Methodist Church of East Norwich)
It has come to my attention that Wesley Nursery School was closed abruptly. My three grandchildren attended this school the past year and had a great experience. Both of my daughters had sent their children to another school prior to Wesley and changed schools based on a recommendation by one of their friends who sent her two sons to Wesley. Wesley provided a very nurturing environment which encouraged the children to learn with ease. I am a teacher myself and was very impressed with the education my grandchildren received at Wesley.
When my daughters told me that a cell tower was being placed in the steeple of the church, my husband and I expressed concern for the health of our grandchildren. Our daughters were very upset and there is no research that exists to assuage our concerns. The studies that exist are inconclusive and after much thought, my daughters decided that they could not enroll their children in Wesley in September. If the cell tower can be removed or the location of the school can be changed, I know that my grandchildren can attend Wesley in a safe environment where their health will not be at risk.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to express my opinion.
