The Albertson-based Clark Botanic Garden Auxiliary recently held its first annual Children’s Garden Day.
The day featured young people dressed as their favorite insect. It also included game-oriented, prize-winning games. Youngsters were invited to construct a garden-related craft, take a picture as an insect, listen to Mother Goose read stories, visit the Honey Bee snack bar, browse through gift shops and met with the Super Garden Hero Bug.
The pleasant day attracted numerous families and the success of Garden Day should encourage Clark Botanic Garden to hold the event on an ongoing basis.
Clark Botanic Garden is owned and operated by the Town of North Hempstead. The Fanny Dwight Clark Memorial Garden, Inc. and its auxiliary is a separate entity established and operated independently of the Town of North Hempstead.
