When we last left Bryan Cranston’s Breaking Bad main character Walter White, was bleeding out on the floor of a meth lab with the police closing in on him. And while hoards of fans would love nothing more than to reunite with this fictional character, this won’t be the case despite recent reports of series creator Vince Gilligan allegedly saying the award-winning drama was returning for a sixth season. It was all a hoax at the hands of National Report, a news and political web satire web publication.
While Gilligan was supposedly saying things like, “Walter White is not dead, and neither is Breaking Bad,” and “We’ve kept it under wraps for months, now the cat’s out of the bag. Season 6 is coming, and it’s going to be epic and true to the fans that have followed the show so incessantly,” these were all actually lies.
Currently, the only plans series home AMC has to revisit breaking bad is the forthcoming Better Call Saul, the prequel comedy series which is slated to debut on the channel in February 2015 and stars Bob Odenkirk as the show’s title character.
