Woodbury’s AHRC Foundation recently held its annual Rose Ball to benefit children and adults with disabilities, raising more than $440,000 with 450 guests in attendance.
NBC’s Lauren Scala, Today in New York reporter, served as the Master of Ceremonies. Roslyn D. Goldmacher and Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington) were recipients of the Leadership Award and Humanitarian Award, respectively.
Israel has personally visited AHRC programs, including Advantage Care, Brookville Center for Children’s Services and the Fay J. Lindner Center for Autism.
Earlier this year, Israel met with AHRC leadership in Washington to discuss strategies to expand the EWorks’ electronic recycling program. EWorks employs men and women with developmental and physical disabilities while responsibly recycling Long Island’s electronic waste.
