The Town of Hempstead brings free arts and crafts sessions for children ages 5 to 12 to Levittown Hall every Saturday. Recreation instructors will guide youngsters in an exciting and creative process. Parents may only enroll their own children. Proof of age is required. Register by calling 516-933-6400. From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Adult Education Classes Begin

The Adult Continuing Education program offered by Hicksville Public Schools provides opportunities and activities to promote lifelong learning. Consider coming out in the evening to enjoy the company of other adults as a community of learners exploring new interests and strengthening present ones. Registration is ongoing for classes, which include topics such as finances, physical fitness, music and languages. Cost varies. For more information call 516-733-2240.

Suicide Prevention

Community Council Meeting

The Hicksville Community Council will have a general meeting. The topic will be the new school zone speed cameras, and the guest speaker will be Chris Mistron, Coordinator of the Nassau County Traffic Safety Department. At the Hicksville Community Center, 28 W. Carl Street. 7 p.m.

German Genealogy Group Meeting

Indoor Garage Sale

St. Ignatius Loyola Parish hosts a huge indoor garage sale. Come see our eclectic mix of pre-loved attic finds, furniture, new kitchen items, plus much more. There will be something for everyone. Everything is priced to sell. The sale will be held in Msgr. Tarrant Hall in the Old School on East Nicholai Street (behind the church) at 129 Broadway. The hall is handicapped accessible. Movie: God’s Not Dead

There will be a screening of the movie God’s Not Dead, about a college philosophy professor whose curriculum is challenged by a new student who believes God exists. At Levittown Hall, 201 Levittown Parkway, Hicksville. $5 donation is requested. Proceeds go towards the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Free popcorn. 3 p.m.
