t was a festive day at the Sands-Willets House, as the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society hosted an old fashioned fair that brought residents back a couple of centuries to enjoy an interlude that included yarn spinning, a petting zoo, a classic racing car and, the highlight of the day, a pie eating contest.
The pie eaters did an admirable job, making it difficult for judge Angela Susan Anton, publisher of Anton Media Group, to pick a winner.
With a little help from Congressman Steve Israel, Ashley O’Neil of Port
was declared the victor in the 12 and under group and another Port resident, Steve Stulbaum, won in the adult division. – Photos by Rich Klein
