Marvelous Matinee

A screening of the 1961 romantic drama Splendor in the Grass starring Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty will be held at 2 p.m. at the Farmingdale Public Library. It is a story of first love between two teenagers in a 1920s Kansas town. When their desire conflicts with the norms of respectable behavior, serious consequences ensue. An Event That’s Truly The Cat’s Meow

On Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p,m., hosts Mike Keegan and Jay Wertzler will squeeze all of the trappings of a tony two-week film festival into a tabby two-hour CAT-tacular at Huntington’s Cinema Arts Centre. There’ll be more cats than you can shake a cat at. World Purr-Mieres? Check. Retrospectives? Check. Howzabout the cutest cat in the world? (Yours, duh.) Established in 2014,The First (and Probably Last) Annual Feline Film and Video Festival for Humans has all of the elements of the world’s most prestigious film festivals, but with one distinct advantage over its storied predecessors: the Cinema Arts Centre shows cat videos. $10 Members / $15 Public.
