Members of the Farmingdale High School Marching Band recently competed in a three-day exhibition, from Oct. 14 to 16, at Mitchel Field Athletic Complex in Garden City, which was filled with spirit and excitement.
At the annual competition, the marching band entertained audience members with their rendition of Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s All Right for Fighting,” and pop hits like Fall Out Boy’s “Thanks for the Memories,” Bruno Mars’ “Runaway Baby,” and “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.
Observers said they were impressed with Farmingdale’s huge sound and polished look.
Experienced marching band musicians discussed Farmingdale’s straight instrument angles, posture, lateral movement, intensity, solid percussion beat, excellent intonation and pride of performers. Members of the Dalerettes’ kickline also showed outstanding choreography, energy, and precision, which were integral to Farmingdale’s exciting performance.
