My Favorite Swap-outs
Simple carbohydrates can be a contributor to weight gain, so be creative when dining without feeling deprived. This will ensure long-lasting results.
1. White rice can be swapped out for cauliflower “rice.” This cruciferous vegetable is a powerhouse vegetable and when placed in the food processor and sautéed, it can mimic your favorite rice dish.
2. Pasta can add calories but no need to feel deprived of your favorite spaghetti and meatballs. “Zucchini linguini” can be a tasty healthy alternative; just shred into strips and add your favorite sauce.
3. White sugar is not your skinny friend; this is always converted into FAT. An alternative to sugar can be Stevia, Agave, or brown rice syrup.
4. Traditional pudding is laced with sugar and calories. A sweet swapout that will also help you shed the pounds is “Chia Seed Pudding.” This delicious dessert will keep you full with its added fiber content. It’s high Omega 3 content will give you a sense of satiety for hours. Omega 3 fatty acids are needed for well-being.
Practice good eating habits when dining: Eat at a well-lit table. Never eat in front of the TV or computer, as this distraction promotes overeating. Bon appetit!
