Movie: Sleepless in Seattle

Come to the POB Library auditorium for a 7:30 screening of the classic film, Sleepless in Seattle. On Christmas Eve, a radio host asks her listening audience what they are wishing for during this season of hope. A little boy from Seattle, Jonah, calls in his wish; a new wife for his widowed father. Across the country, Annie Reed hears Jonah and is immediately captivated by his selfless Christmas wish. She becomes convinced that it is her destiny to meet Sam, Jonah’s dad, but Annie is already engaged and Sam doesn’t even know that he and Annie are made for each other. Starring Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan and Ross Malinger (1993, PG-104 min).

Kabbalah and Jewish Mysticism

Tobay Hadassah invites you to join them for their program “Intro to Kabbalah and Jewish Mysticism” with Rabbi Tuvia Teldon, Chabad of L.I. Concert Performance

Come to the POB Library auditorium and enjoy an hour and a half long concert performance by Vivian Choi. Internationally acclaimed pianist Vivian Choi performs classical works by Schubert/Liszt, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. Co-sponsored by the Town of Oyster Bay and open to all. The concert begins at 8 p.m.

Craft Barn Open House

The Amish Craft Barn & Gift Shoppe welcome all to their holiday open house from Nov. 20-23. Come purchase holiday décor such as ornaments, stuffed animals and craft wood furniture. The Jewish Family Initiative invites families to a pre-Thanksgiving event from 12-2 p.m. to help package Thanksgiving packages for soldiers and children in hospitals. Bud Livingston will return to the library to discuss what happened on that fateful day when Americans and the world were shocked by the shooting of our young president. 8th Annual POB Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

The 8th annual Plainview-Old Bethpage Interfaith Thanksgiving service will take place today at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Latter Day Saints, 160 Washington Ave., Plainview. Participants include Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Manetto Hill Jewish Center, Plainview Church of Latter-Day Saints and Plainview Reformed Church among several others, POB JFK High School chorus, local Boy Scout Troops and the Plainview Fire Department. 3rd Annual “Fill the Bag” Event

In preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday, Mid-Island Collision has purchased over $150,000 in non-perishable groceries to provide over 15,000 Thanksgiving meals to Long Island’s needy. Volunteers are needed to donate their time to help fill bags of meals from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mid-Island Collision at 20 Lakeview Ave., Rockville Centre.
