Edna Keifer Gallardo was born Aug. 5, 1931 in Mineola, NY. She died peacefully in her sleep early Monday morning, Nov. 24, 2014, at the home she shared with her husband Leo Gallardo in Westbury. She was 83-years-old.
She is survived by her husband, her three children and their spouses; John and Cindy Gallardo of Boca Raton, FL, Lysa and Rick Grant of Oregon, WI, and Robert and Katharine Gallardo of Syosset, NY, as well as eight grandchildren; Stephanie, Christen, Brian, Keith, Pamela, Gina, Allison and Dylan and two great grandsons.
She is also survived by best friend Ingeborg Meissner, of Mineola whom she met when they both attended grade school on Long Island. Together, they enjoyed a lifelong friendship.
She is a graduate of Cornell University and over the course of her life she was a waitress at the historic Maine Maid Inn, an office professional for The American Stamp Dealers Association and a homemaker.
