Two men were struck—one fatally—by a vehicle while crossing a road in Riverside over the weekend.

Southampton Town Police said the two pedestrians were walking across Flanders Road just north of Vail Avenue when they were both hit by a southbound vehicle shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Their identities were not immediately released.

Detectives found no apparent criminality on behalf of the driver, who was not injured.

The road was closed for about three hours while investigators were on the scene.

Southampton detectives ask anyone with information on this crash to call them at 631-702-2230. All calls will be kept confidential.
