Erik Siuda, the owner/artist at Ghost Gallery Tattoo in Bethpage is still in the running for the title “Ink Master,” after 13 weeks of competition.
After surviving “Heads Will Roll” last week, each artist has now defeated their rival, but new rivalries are forming every day. The six remaining contestants faced off in a Flash Challenge testing precision.
Like tattoos, headphones have become a way to express oneself and make a statement. Monster DNA has commissioned some of the world’s best artists to design limited edition headphones, including Judge Chris Nunez. The contestants had four hours to work in pairs to design their own custom, monster-sized, Monster DNA headphones. The winning pair had their headphone design manufactured and available for limited sales alongside Nunez’s own design. Because Cleen Rock One won the previous elimination challenge, he had the power to assign the teams. While two teams dropped the ball, Cleen Rock One and Mark Longenecker were the winners.
Up next, the artists were joined by legendary guest Judge Tim Hendricks, best known for his portrait tattoos. In this challenge, artists demonstrated precision by tattooing portraits. One mistake changes the face of the person they are tattooing.
Contestant Cris Element’s tattoo was voted worst of the week by the Human Canvas Jury, and Erik Siuda joined Element and fellow competitor Aaron Is on the chopping block. During the deliberation, the judges deliberated on who to send home—Element or Is, however, they ultimately decided to say goodbye to Is, allowing Siuda to move on in the competition.
Ink Master airs weekly on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Spike TV.
