A 20-year-old Brooklyn man was struck and killed by a car Friday afternoon in Bay Shore, Suffolk County police said.
Manuel Dejesus-Garcia was attempting to cross Pine Aire Drive at 12:10 p.m when he was struck by a 2012 Honda Pilot being driven by a 23-year-old Brentwood man, police said.
Dejesus-Garcia was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the Honda was not injured and stayed at the scene following the fatal crash, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
