30-Minute Fitness, at 552 Middle Neck Rd. in Great Neck, is sponsoring its 18th annual toy drive benefiting the Toys for Tots program. The toy drive will be held at 30-Minute Fitness through Wednesday, Dec. 17. Anyone wishing to donate a toy can bring it over Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. or Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Toys should be brand new and in their original wrapping. Please do not wrap toys in gift paper. Donation suggestions include small cars and trucks, puzzles, games, dolls, stuffed animals, books, baby bottles, pacifiers, etc. The age range for donated toys is infants to 15 years old. For more information, call 516-466-8410.
Jane and Sandy Levy, owners of 30-Minute Fitness, hope everyone will find it in their hearts to donate a toy to this very worthy cause. Say the Levys, “There are many children who will not have a happy holiday season, because many families on Long Island can not afford to make the holidays a time of celebration. This current economic climate has hit everyone in all demographics, and many families still have not recovered. The holidays should be a time for family and fun, but hospitalized kids cannot be at home with their families to celebrate the holidays, and many parents are still stationed half a world away. We want to bring some happiness to all these families and are confident the people of this community will find it in their hearts again this year to donate toys to our toy drive.”
The Toys for Tots program is conducted by the United States Marine Corps worldwide. Toys donated to the 30-Minute Fitness Toy Drive are distributed all over Long Island.
