Alfred Girardi died on Nov. 23, 2014, age 77, of Oyster Bay. Beloved husband of Mary. Cherished father of Al (Christina) and Nicholas. Beloved grandpa to August Alfred and Aemilia Lucia. Loving brother of Anthony Girardi (Theresa). Devoted son of the late Nicolo and Ida Girardi of Oceanside. Alfred is also survived by loving cousins, nieces, nephews, many good friends and Girardi relatives on Long Island and the tri-state region.
While Alfred never failed to meet life’s challenges with courage and determination, his warm smile and persistent good cheer were dear to all who knew him. After an accomplished career as a certified public accountant with major firms in New York and Long Island, Alfred founded Girardi & Hickey in Syosset, where he advised local, regional and national businesses and individuals for decades. He also was active in local causes and charities including more than a decade of service on the executive board of the Theodore Roosevelt Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
