Kicking off the season of giving, Woodbury resident Mara Navaretta, president and owner of Homes By Mara Realty of Syosset has donated $1,500 to Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF). Resulting from commissions pooled by Navaretta and several participating agents at her agency, this donation represents the latest among several since Jan. 2012 that Navaretta and her agency have made to the nonprofit organization.
Navaretta first made her commitment to support CBTF and its many families who have children with brain tumors after being inspired by personal friend Fred Adlman and his wife, Bonnie, who tragically lost their daughter Jill in 1990 to a brain tumor.
“It is so humbling and gratifying to be able to lend our continued support for Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation and the many brave families it serves,” said Navaratta, who has a 10-year-old daughter. “Being a parent myself, I have a great respect and admiration for the many families out there with children diagnosed with brain tumors who wake up each day showing such tremendous hope, strength and courage.”
Bonnie Adlman, who since the loss of her daughter has become a children’s brain tumor advocate and an active member of the CBTF Board of Directors, visited Homes By Mara with her husband Fred, to accept Navaretta’s and her agency’s latest contribution.
“We are extremely grateful and honored that Mara and her agency have taken Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation and its mission so much to heart and under their wing,” she said. “We applaud Mara’s and her agents’ incredible loyalty in helping to campaign Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation’s cause for those children and families affected by this disease. Their unyielding commitment and support is an inspiration for all of us and it is our hope that other business professionals will be inspired to follow suit in supporting other charitable causes like ours that may be near and dear to their hearts.”
CBTF is also grateful for Navaratta’s and Homes By Mara’s continuous support.
