The Plainview-Old Bethpage School District recently held its first annual Digital Citizenship Week to educate students about Internet usage. Middle and high school students all participated in fun activities designed for each age group. Activities included, “Understanding your digital footprint,” “T.H.I.N.K (Is it True? Helpful? Inspiring? Necessary? Kind?),” “Cyberbullying” and “Psychology of your Digital Footprint.”
Middle school students were also encouraged to create a video related to the theme of digital citizenship entitled, “Digital Pride #PlayYourPart.” Various speakers led each of these activities and interacted with students to educate them on responsible Internet usage.
