Children at the Roslyn Trinity Cooperative Day School recently completed the school’s annual four-week yoga class. The school includes yoga as part of its curriculum, reflecting its commitment to learning through play and movement.
The class was led by certified yoga teacher, Leah Zwerlein, and Dena Vigilis of Little Lotus Yoga, a center in Port Washington focusing exclusively on yoga for children. Co-op parents have told Zwerlin that the children demonstrate poses at home. One parent described a recent play date where the children demonstrated poses and discussed what “Namaste” means.
Other popular programs at the school include Creative Movement & Dance taught by professionals from the Alvin Ailey School in New York City, which will begin this month. For more information, contact Lindi Nubel at 516-621-3380 or visit www.roslyntrinityco-op.org.
