I feel a great propensity for nostalgia as I write this letter. As a young teenager, living within the Mineola community I would go to the Mineola Movie Theater on Mineola Blvd at least once a week. I also had the opportunity to meet the renowned Sammy Davis Jr. once as he was rehearsing for a play at the theater.The well visited theater was such a treasure to have within our community at the time. I therefore write this to suggest turning the rather attractive Citibank building into something cultural, while also being advantageous to our community, it’s restaurants and businesses.. Wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy this cultural experience once again within Mineola, our County Seat?
