George “Coach” Rhein, 81, of Glen Cove, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at his home. A resident of Glen Cove for more than 43 years. George found great happiness with his family and friends, was born in Brooklyn and served in the Korean conflict. George is survived by his wife Mary, two sons, George and John (Sandy), daughters Rose and Terry (Peter) Brown and his sister Theresa Nemitz. He was the proud grandfather to Olivia and John Michael Rhein and Jack, Julia, and PJ Brown.
Funeral Mass held at the Church of St. Patrick. Interment St. Charles Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
