As part of his ongoing constituent outreach programs, Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I – East Meadow) recently visited Eastplain Elementary School, part of the Plainedge School District. The assemblyman met with fourth grade students to talk about state government and the legislative process.
“Meeting with constituents is the best part of being a representative, and it is especially nice to meet with a group of such bright and engaged young people,” said McKevitt. “In Albany, I work very hard to deliver for our schools, and it’s such a joy to get to visit students, to share in the process of education as well as, personally, to be reminded of why it is so vital our schools on Long Island are properly supported in the state budget. As we face a very difficult state budget negotiation, these students are among those I will be fighting for.”
