Obituary: Leslie Schramm Hughes

Leslie Schramm Hughes, of Locust Valley, passed away on Feb. 17, 2015, after a long illness. Leslie is survived by husband James Steve Hughes; daughter Megan Hughes; grandchildren Ava Isadora and Emma Isabella; father Michael D. Schramm; sisters Laura Schramm (Michael Olshefsky), Linda Schramm and Corinda Hanlon (Martin); nieces Hailey and Gabriella Schramm Olshefsky; nephews Robert and Kenneth Barnett. She is preceded in death by her mother Corinda Schramm. Leslie, aged 50, was born in Locust Valley, where she has been a lifelong resident and active in her community. She loved life and her family, rescued animals and helped those who could not help themselves. A private memorial service will be held; donations may be sent to the LI Alzheimer’s Resource Center.
