Cops arrested two men who targeted a big box chain in a grand larceny scheme stretching over four days in January and February in Levittown.
According to detectives, officers responded to Target on Hempstead Turnpike for two suspects who were identified in previous larcenies of Crest Whitening Strips valued at more than $3,500. Police say Jamel McDonal, 30, and William Byrd, 43, lifted the expensive tooth care products from the store on Jan. 22, Feb. 10, Feb. 18 and Feb. 24. It was during their trip to the store on March 16 that were recognized from security footage and placed under arrest.
McDonal and Byrd are both charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny. McDonal is being charged with an additional charge of fourth-degree grand larceny for stealing whitening strips and razors from a Westbury Target.
