Spring Craft Fair
Over 100 vendors come to Holy Trinity High School to sell spring outdoor crafts, as well as Easter and Mothers Day items. This fundraiser will support student athletics, performing arts and school activities. There will be breakfast and lunch, a bake sale table and raffles. Free admission. Breast Cancer Screenings
Nassau University Medical Center’s Mammography Van will be coming to Cantiague Park at 480 W. John St., Hicksville to provide breast cancer screenings for women over age 50. The screening will include a breast examination by a nurse, a mammography and instructions for breast self-examination. If it’s been at least a year since your last mammography and you are planning to receive an exam, you will need a prescription for the exam from your doctor (if you have insurance) and must provide any past exam films, if available. Women with health insurance will be required to make a co-payment. The mammography is free for uninsured women, based on eligibility guidelines. From 8:45 a.m. to noon. Appointments are required and scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Gift Card Bingo
The Joseph Barry Columbiettes, 45 Heitz Place, Hicksvillle, will be having a gift card Bingo event. Doors open at 7 p.m., games start at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $8 per person, which includes one set of cards. Additional cards and specials will be available. There will be coffee and cake, raffles, prizes and a cash bar. Hugs for Sarah Memorial Blood Drive
The Sarah Grace Foundation for Children With Cancer will host a blood drive in loving memory of Sarah Grace Weippert. Healthy individuals are encouraged to donate blood between the hours of 10a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the William P. Bennett Hicksville Community Center, 28 West Carl St. The Sarah Grace Foundation For Children With Cancer was created by the parents of Sarah Grace Weippert, who passed away from acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2002 at the age of 12. The Harlem Wizards return to Hicksville for an evening of tricks, hoops and alley-oops. The team will face off against The Falcons, a team of teachers and parents from Hicksville Elementary Schools. This event is sponsored by the Fork Lane PTA. Tickets are $12, at the door is $15. Children under 3 are free. Courtside tickets (which includes a meet and greet) is $20.
