The Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF) was recently held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Syosset. The Island Trees Memorial Middle School team was comprised of five students in the eighth grade who developed engaging and evidence-based projects including, “Data Loss from Magnetism,” by Justin Zhang and Sohrab Saljooki, and “Factors Affecting Electromagnetism,” by David Wendt, Ethan Garcia and Thomas Zamroz.
As part of LISEF, each project was judged by three STEM experts. “Factors Affecting Electromagnetism” proudly earned a second place ribbon. Congratulations to the students for their outstanding second place achievement.
Special thanks to Mr. Greg Wagner (coordinator of science) and Mr. Dan Cava (technology teacher) for an outstanding job mentoring these future scientists and engineers.
