Dorothy Dotty Murphy Angevine

Dorothy “Dotty” (Murphy) Angevine, 85, of Windsor Locks, CT, loving wife of the late Charles N. Angevine, passed away peacefully after being visited by her family on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Dorothy was born February 28, 1930, in Westbury, NY the daughter of the late Walter and Anna (VanWickler) Murphy. She was a graduate of the Westbury High School Class of 1948. Dorothy was employed with Northern CT Bank and Trust as a teller for over 10 years and later held various office positions until her retirement. Dorothy and Charles were married 57 years and the marriage was a “match made in heaven.” Together they moved to Lake City, FL in 1994 and she moved back to Windsor Locks in 2012 after Charles passed to be closer to family. Dorothy was an avid painter, voracious reader and letter-writer.

ObitAngevine_042215AShe enjoyed baking and won the blue ribbon for her oatmeal lace cookies. Family was dearest to Dorothy’s heart. She enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends through letters, emails and phone calls. She is survived by two children, Bruce Angevine and his wife, Deb of Edgewater, MD and Elaine Bycenski and her husband, John of Windsor Locks. She is also survived by her four beloved granddaughters, Karen Bycenski of Spencer, MA, Kimberly Bycenski of Windsor Locks, Elizabeth Borcik and her husband, Dan of Annapolis, MD and Katie Hall and her husband, Dave of Edgewater, MD; four loving great-grandchildren, Parry and Grace Wilson and Kelsey and Mackenzie Hall; a sister, Barbara Gardner of Bohemia, NY; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Her family would like to thank her many friends especially her driver, James; her nurse, Al; and Sheri Morris for all the support she gave the family the last couple of months. Dorothy was predeceased by two sisters, Mary McAvoy and Theresa Murphy. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
