Job Fair

Farmingdale State College is hosting a job fair from 3 to 6 p.m. Organized by the Career Development Center, the job fair takes place in Roosevelt Hall MPR. Attendees should dress for success and bring multiple copies of their resume.

PTA Meeting

The Parent Teacher Association is hosting a meeting at Howitt Middle School at 7 p.m.

W.E.B. Du Bois

Farmingdale State College is hosting a W.E.B. Du Bois Research Conference from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The conference will not only highlight the achievements of the faculty and students in the undergraduate research program, but will present an opportunity for faculty to learn about, and discuss ways that they can involve students in their research. Northside Elementary School Parent Teacher Association is hosting a talent show at Howitt Middle School at 7 p.m.

Women’s Club Fundraiser

The Women’s Club of Farmingdale is hosting a Sunday Brunch Fundraiser at Palmer’s Restaurant in Farmingdale. Proceeds are earmarked for scholastic awards to Farmingdale High School seniors at the high school’s June Awards Ceremony, as well as donations to local charities and community projects. St. Kilian Blood Drive

The blood drive will be held at the St. Kilian auditorium on Cherry St. from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Kiwanis Meeting

The Kiwanis Club of Farmingdale is hosting a special evening at the Allen Ellsworth Park Administration Building at 7 p.m. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis clubs assist children and young adults, the aged and the needy; work to improve communities and encourage international understanding. The Kiwanis Club of Farmingdale send less fortunate children to summer camp, run food drives for our local food pantry, support the Farmingdale High School Key Club children and honor our veterans and local community heroes. Farmingdale Kiwanis is sponsoring the annual Field of Honor at the Farmingdale Library wherein 200 American flags are erected.  Contact vice president Georgiana Sena at kiwanis farmingdale@gmail.com  for additional information or to RSVP for this event. The Go Green Club is hosting an Earth Day Fair from noon to 4 p.m.

Cake Decor Basics

The Chocolate Duck at 310 Main St. is hosting a classic cake decorating class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Students will learn baking expertise, recipes, frosting, fillings, shell, fluted, rope and pearl borders, writing, star tipping, basket weave and piping clowns. Flowers include drop flowers, small roses and buds and leaves. Other classes will be held on May 13 and May 20.

Kids Paint Class

Children can express their artistic abilities at Paint and Main from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Attendees will be supplied with all materials needed.
