Academic Achievements
Lauren Liegmann of Massapequa Park was awarded the Joseph D. Posillico, Sr. Memorial Scholarship for the 2014-2015 school year.

Shaun Howley of Amityville was awarded the Raymond Von Deesten Memorial Scholarship for the 2014-2015 school year.

Aesha Curtis of Amityville, Melissa Erdman of Massapequa Park and Emily Meehan of Massapequa Park have all been awarded the Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarship at Farmingdale State College.

Jonathan Comeaux of Massapequa Park and Jarea Small of Amityville were both awarded the Farmingdale College Foundation Scholarship.

Widline Michel of Amityville has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship from Farmingdale State College.

William Fagan of Massapequa Park was elected to Phi Beta Kappa at SUNY Geneseo.

Jamie Farrell of Massapequa Park was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Farrell is pursuing a degree in Speech Pathology at Ithaca College.

Danielle Rennard of Massapequa Park was one of 16 SUNY Oneonta students selected to receive awards for artwork displayed in the college’s Annual Student Juried Art Exhibition. Rennard received the George E. Zimmerman Memorial Award for a film photography piece titled “Student’s Natural Habitat.” Rennard also won a Martin-Mullen Art Gallery Award for a film photography piece titled “The Unknown.”

Jeffrey Kornbluth of Massapequa Park was initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Columbus State University.

Alissa Mannarino, a Business Economics-Marketing major from Massapequa Park was recently inducted into the college’s Beta Gamma Sigma honor society chapter. Only the best business students in the world, and the professionals who earn the distinction of “the Best in Business” during their academic careers, can claim this international honor.
