Lacrosse Reaches Playoffs
The Mineola Mustangs’ Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse team finished the regular season with a thrilling 10-9 victory over Oyster Bay at Theodore Roosevelt Park on Thursday, May 7. Brian Smith scored on a pass from Pete McCormack with 40 seconds left in the game.
The Mustangs finished the regular season with a 7-2 conference record, tied with Seaford and Locust Valley for second place. Their overall record for the 2015 season was 12-3 and they earned the third seed in the Nassau Class C tournament.
Mustangs Topple Clarke
The Mustangs beat Clarke 16-6 on May 13. The offense was led by Kyle Dunleavy with four goals and Colin Renner, who had three goals. Chris Lockwood tacked on two goals and three assists and freshman John McMahon scored his first varsity points, two goals and two assists.
