Seventh Squad detectives report the arrest of a Massapequa man for grand larceny that occurred in Seaford on Thursday, May 28 at 6:20 a.m.
According to detectives, Frederick Eggers III, 47, while using a center console boat, removed a wooden barge (was being used as a floating dock), from the rear of a residence located at John Lane in Seaford, which was tied to the marine bulkhead at that location. The value of the barge is estimated to be approximately $15,000. Seventh Precinct police officers located the barge on Wednesday, June 3 at John Burns Park in Massapequa along with the defendant, who was placed under arrest.
Eggers is being charged with grand larceny third degree and will be arraigned on Thursday, June 4 in First District Court, Hempstead.
