St. Ignatius Senior Club
The St. Ignatius Senior Club meets at the William P. Bennett Hicksville Community Center, 28 W. Carl St., the first and third Wednesday of the month. Meet your friends and make new ones. Car Show
Automat Customizing & Restoration holds their 59th annual car show. See more than 300 custom, classic, antique, exotic, and luxury cars and trucks. Bring a camera for pictures with the Automat girls. Bike Safety Program
A bike safety program is being held from 9 a.m. to noon at Parkway Community Church, 95 Stewart Ave. in Hicksville. The bike safety program is sponsored by the New York Coalition for Transportation Safety.
It is a free program featuring bicycles and safety tips for children in kindergarten through junior high. Children must bring their own bike. Safety rules are discussed and bikes are checked for safety. Free helmets are distributed with the proper way to wear them discussed. In addition reflective vests and free safety items are distributed.
The children will learn bike safety on a predesigned bike rodeo course. Each child is given age appropriate guidance depending on their biking skills. Hand signals are taught, breaking with safety, and many other biking safety rules are discussed as the leader goes along.
Additional staff is provided to assist the leader. An adult must accompany a child. To enroll please call Parkway Community Church 516-935-1233. Be sure to indicate how many children you will be bringing and their ages.

Bus Trip to the Sands Casino
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Hicksville chapter, will be hosting a bus trip to the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, Penn. on Tuesday, July 28. The cost is $42 per person, which includes the driver’s tip. Give back is $30 slot pay and $5 food voucher. The bus will leave at 9 a.m., please arrive at Burns Avenue elementary school at 8:30 a.m. For reservations please call Barbara at 516-935-5576. Please make checks payable to the CDA.
