Massapequa High School-Ames Campus freshmen in Denise Baldinger’s Health classes were game on teaching the importance of eating right and staying healthy to Lockhart Elementary School students who came to visit their class for an interactive lesson.
After weeks of researching topics related to good health, nutrition and wellness, the freshmen students created original board games to teach first, second and fourth graders how to lead healthy lives. They promoted ways of making good choices as the youngsters answered questions and advanced around the game boards. Each game contained nutrition facts and promoted topics such as the recommended food plate for healthy eating.
