Music Club Scholarship

The Music Study Club of Port Washington has actively supported the music program of the Port Washington schools for decades. The club, which will celebrate its 100th year of activity in 2018, annually presents a scholarship to a Schreiber senior who has demonstrated dedicated involvement in the Port Washington School music program and achieved a high level of skill in their musical specialties. This year’s Music Club Scholarship was presented by President Mary Watts at Schreiber’s Community Awards Ceremony on June 10.

Faith Ausfresser was the recipient of this year’s Music Club scholarship. Ausfresser is an accomplished vocalist, President and leader of the soprano section of the choir, member of Tri-M music honors society and frequent soloist performing the National Anthem at school events. She will attend the University of Delaware in the fall as a Music Education major with a concentration in Music Therapy.

“The Music Club of Port Washington is proud to annually support a talented young musician, and grateful for the assistance and professionalism of the Music Department of the Port Washington Schools. We look forward to many years of presenting a scholarship and encouraging music in young people,” said Jean O’Malley, School Liaison of the Music Study Club of Port Washington.
