To continue its efforts in the war against drugs and to protect students and the community, the Plainedge School District held its first life-saving Narcan training session for all teachers and staff members district wide.
Incorporated into Superintendent’s Conference Day, the seminar focused on the opiate overdose reversal agent Narcan and covered the signs of an overdose, as well as when and how to administer the antidote. Training was provided by the Nassau County Overdose Prevention and NARCAN Training team from Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano’s office.
Plainedge is among the first districts in New York State to offer this life-saving certification to its entire staff.
