Great Neck Public Schools’ new superintendent, Dr. Teresa Prendergast, interacted with John F. Kennedy School fifth-graders during their Opening Day of School grade-level gathering. In answer to her question as to why they, as fifth-graders, are important to the school, the students eagerly answered that they serve as role models for the younger children. When asked what is the role of the superintendent, students likened her to a principal for all the schools. Dr. Prendergast also warmly greeted students when they first arrived at school and visited a few classrooms.
