Kids Safety Day At Mary Jane Davies Park

kidsafetyThe North Hempstead Town Board will present the eighth annual Kids Safety Day on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Manhasset’s Mary Jane Davies Green.
This exciting and informative event focuses on educating kids about fire, Internet and car safety, and the importance of recycling. The Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department will also be there with a fire truck and smokehouse that the children may walk through and explore. New this year, the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management will be offering tours of their mobile command center. As always, Kids Safety Day will include free giveaways, arts and crafts and more.
“Kids Safety Day proves that we can learn while also having fun,” said TONH Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “I thank our local law enforcement agencies and our wonderful community groups for collaborating with us in order to provide our children and parents with the knowledge necessary to keep them safe.”
Councilwoman Anna Kaplan, who is cohosting the event, said, “Kids Safety Day has always held a special place in my heart as keeping our children safe at home and in our community is of paramount importance
to me. I look forward to partnering
with the community on another
successful Kids Safety Day event.”
