The First Squad reports the arrest of a North Massapequa woman on Tuesday, Sept. 22, for Grand Larceny that occurred in Bellmore.
According to detectives, a female victim, 73 years of age, had asked her friend Maureen Adamo, 52, to assist her with making sure her bills were paid while she recovered from a medical procedure. Beginning in January of 2015 Adamo began to forge checks from the victim’s account and deposit them into her own account totaling a loss in excess of $50,000 dollars. Detectives located Adamo on Tuesday, Sept. 22 in Bethpage and placed her under arrest.
Adamo is charged with Grand Larceny in the second degree and four counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the second degree. She was arraigned on Sept. 23 at First District Court in Hempstead.
