A suspect has been arrested for allegedly killing a 27-year-old Oyster Bay man in a hit-and-run crash in Roosevelt last week, New York State police said.

Wilkens Thelusma, 37, of East Farmingdale, was charged with leaving the scene of an fatal incident without reporting.

Police said Thelusma was driving a Hyundai Sante Fe eastbound on the Southern State Parkway when he struck Rick Munoz, who walked into the roadway after allegedly crashing a stolen box truck on Thursday.

Bail for Thelusma was set at $50,000. He is due back in court Wednesday.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relative information is encouraged to contact the New York State Police at 631-756-3300.
