Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, the town board and the Town of North Hempstead Community Development Agency in cooperation with the Long Island Housing Partnership, Inc. joined together on Oct. 30 to break ground on the first of 15 newly constructed homes as part of the North Hempstead Workforce Housing Program.

Owners for these new residences were determined through the Workforce Housing Program Lottery held in December 2014.

“Providing affordable housing options is a key part of the revitalization of any community,” Councilwoman Viviana Russell said. “I look forward to continuing to work with our partners in government on this endeavor as we prepare to welcome new young homeowners and their families to our neighborhood over the coming weeks and months.”

Construction on this house is slated to take six to nine months with construction on the other single-family homes slated to begin in the next three to four months.
