Hicksville Crash Leaves Pedestrian Dead

A 52-year-old Queens woman was fatally struck by a minivan while crossing a road in Hicksville on Thursday evening.

Nassau County police said the Olga Aranova was walking across Broadway under the Long Island Rail Road trestle when she was hit by a northbound Toyota Sienna shortly before 8 p.m.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Homicide Squad detectives inspected the vehicle and do not suspect any criminality.
