The 1964 award-winning musical Hello Dolly is coming to Manhasset High School. With lyrics and music by Jerry Herman and a book by Michael Stewart, the cast of 32 high school students are busy rehearsing with director Robb Fessler and choreographer Victoria DiCarlo. The show, a romantic comedy based on the play The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder, will be entertaining for the whole family.
The crew consists of more than 30 high school students and the orchestra has 14 student musicians. Many have been hard at work on the sets working under Karl Hueglin, who has been donating his time for over 35 years. The costumes, which express Fessler’s vision, are all done from scratch. Also Penny Tadler and Mike Rinaldi, both Manhasset High School alumni, are working hard to make the show a success.
Tickets for all performances can be purchased online at www.manhasset.k12.ny.us or at the box office one hour prior to the show. Tickets are $15. Performances are scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19, 20 & 21, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. in the Secondary School Auditorium. Come on down and enjoy the show.
